Changing Backgrounds!

Hey Guys:

Thought some of you might find it interesting to use different objects for your backgrounds. What I will do on occasion if I am stuck for a background is to take a small section of an image, in this case swimming pool water, and use it for the backdrop of my bottle and drink image. The water was color corrected and a vignette was added to finish off the image.

Any suggestions or ideas for future tutorials, I'd love to hear from you.

Making you look good.

Hi All:

This week I would like to share a couple of effects that may help you out.

One request I get often is taking a low resolution image and enlarging it. Unfortunately, when this is done images typically looks very poor. The edges of lines look jagged, the image breaks up and looks choppy. Fortunately, I have developed a technique for fixing these undesired artifacts. It's time consuming, but effective. Here is an example of a very small low resolution image and the final image enlarged many, many times suitable for billboard use. If you require a closer look, please let me know.

If you have a small or poor quality image that you would like to use at a very large size, but are disappointed with the image, talk with me as to how I can help you out.

The second set of images have a really cool organic quality to them. The images almost look three dimensional. You might be inclined to reach out a grab the image! Some describe the look as 'animated'. Maybe this look will be just the ticket for your next ad!

Hello All:

As always, if anyone has any comments or questions about retouching I would be happy to respond.

I am looking at putting together an updated tutorial on YouTube soon. I have had some questions about putting shine and shape on cars, so that will probably be next.

Another couple weeks have passed and I'd like to share some more feedback from clients. Feedback is always appreciated. Typically in this business, 'no news is good news!' I work hard at satisfying client needs so it's always great to hear from you.
